Stretching to new limits
I believe every growth comes from reaching beyond what you think is possible.
I did that this year (2020) with my photography. I knew I was an okay photographer.
With my family and friend's support and yes a little prodding, I prepared images and entered them in my State PPA (Professional Photographers of America) print competition.
They did well there, I re-worked them a little and received some guidance from a few mentors in the photography world. I admit it I was petrified when I entered them once again in one of the biggest competitions in the USA.
One of the images that did well at state came up first for IPC judging and flopped. I felt the ground drop out from under me. "I wasn't ready for the big times."
The next few come up and MERIT!!!
They didn't go on to the next level, but the Merited at IPC.
I need to thank my family, mentors. But most importantly my hubby, who had faith in me when I wasn't sure I did.
